Plump Diana is ironing her underwear when the hottest blue babe in all of the galaxy appears
in her living room. Did she forget to mention he was naked too? Abducted, decontaminated and
dressed like a harem girl, she’s been chosen to become the hunky alien’s mate.

Kor asked his ancestors to find him a biddable, docile mate, instead they found him Diana–a
curvy, argumentative earthling who sets his pulse pounding and his loins on fire. He might
be an alien who doesn’t understand the meaning of love, but he sure knows what he feels is more than lust.

Alien Mate edition by Eve Langlais Literature Fiction eBooks

Kinda read out of order. Read book 3 first and I was able to follow ok but then I came back to this one and now some things in 3 make sense. Kor and Diana are mentioned in 3 so its nice to know who they are now more in depth. Kor and Diana are interesting. They didnt really "like" each other at first. Kor was excited to get a mate but what he wanted and what he got were 2 different things. Diana notices how hot Kor is but the way he went about things were just not what she had in mind. It was an ok read I honestly enjoyed book 3 better. I felt something was missing from Diana and Kor but I just cant place it. More chemistry and more scorching? I guess I expected more but didnt quite get it.

Alien Mate edition by Eve Langlais Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I've read a few Eve Langlais books, and this was one of the better ones. I haven't read them all, but the ones I have, have seemed to be largely just titillation. This one had plenty of that, but had lots more substance and depth than any of the others I've read. Of course, it's a fantastical premise, but I love fantasy. I just felt she made more of an effort at an actual relationship between her main romantic couple. There was emotional growth on both their parts. I still use her books sparingly to fill in gaps while waiting for books by my favorite authors, but at least I didn't feel so guilty about reading this one.
Eve Langlais writes funny, intelligent heroines with strength and smart mouths. The males that mate them have the best way to stop them talking. This is certainly true in Alien Mates. Her witty and humorous style will draw in the reader and leave them wanting more.
I love her books spIciness its no surprise I loved this one. Diana is a size 14 which is a nice change of pace to the size 2 I normally read about. If you want a light hearted read with a little action, a bit of tension, and a lot of lust and romance then look no further. You'll be giggling the whole way through.
Happily this was not just another “aliens need women because something happened to theirs” story.
Kor is typical in that he didn’t take advantage of all the info available to him before he showed up in her life.
Diana took the sudden change in circumstances quite well overall.
I liked the little details that differentiated this one, such as Diana not being the first and the spirits of the ancestors.
Diana was minding her own business in her home when it is invaded by a blue alien named Kor. Kor has let it be known he is Diana's new leader (mate), he figures she will agree because he specifically asked for a docile mate. Diana is anything but, she is a sassy woman who wants answers before agreeing to become Kor's mate. Can she agree to a life with Kor on an alien planet?

This had some really funny moments. Liked the word play in this one. Thought it was easy to visualize and a true treat to read.
Diana’s just chilling in her house, ironing her underwear on a Saturday night...as you do...when Kor, an escapee from the Blue Man Group, I mean, an alien from the planet Xamian, pops up and says she’s to be his mate. He promptly kidnaps her and then, romance happens.

The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between

-The strength is Eve Langlais’ humor it’s funny in a goofy way and while not every joke lands, enough did that I found it fun to read. Diana’s a curvy gal who’s in demand with the aliens. Yes because if you’re curvy, the heroes have to be from another time, species or planet to want to be with you. It’s silly, but I don’t examine it too closely. It’s easier that way.

-Diana makes Kor work for it Diana could be wowed by the hot blue guy, but no, she sticks up for herself and I appreciated that. Plus enough sexy times to make it interesting.

-it’s rather simple and melodramatic towards the end Now here’s the rub (no pun intended) - sexy times and silly fun? Check. Story? Um, logic not as necessary I guess. The climax of the story was dependent on a bit of stupidity to work. I would have like to have it be funny and smart.

The Bottom Line
If you’re looking for a simple, kinda steamy kinda silly alien romance with low angst, then this is the series for you.
I love Eve Langlais' work. She tends to write engaging stories that leave you rolling with laughter. This series left me a bit disappointed, though. As per her usual, the stories in all three Alien Mate books were good, but having already read her Alien Abduction series, I found myself a bit disappointed. The concept for this series is nearly identical to the Alien Abduction series - hot, unusually colored alien men (blue in this series, purple in the other) are visiting earth to kidnap women to mate with, and hilarity and steamy sex ensue. However, the Alien Abduction series was riotously funny, with unrepentant alien mercenaries as the alien male stars of the stories. The heroes in this series, so far, have been boring and stuffy by comparison. I read this series in the hope of finding more of the awesome hilarity and space shenanigans of the Abduction series, only to find myself disappointed and mildly bored. If the concept of this story series interests you, I highly suggest you read Eve's Alien Abduction series instead.
